During the last 12 months many new homes have been built across Orange County and some buyers who were planning on buying new homes have asked us if a home inspection is needed before they purchase a new home and the answer to this question is no.

Why You Don’t Need a Home Inspection

The main reason why you don’t need a home inspection is because all new homes come with warranties, so if something goes wrong with the home within the first few weeks or months after you purchase it, you can have confidence that work will be done by the builder to fix the home.

Once you receive the home warranty from the builder be sure to read through it thoroughly to make sure your best interests will be protected should any problems occur with latent defects in the home.

Some home warranties only cover certain areas of the home for specific lengths of time so it’s best to be aware of those potential limitations by reading through your entire home warranty.

Always Do Your Research before Buying a New Home

Before you buy a new home make sure you take the time to research the builder online, or in your local area, to learn more about their reputation and verify that they also work with the best suppliers in the industry.
