Clever Tips to Stage & Sell Your Home When You Have Small Kids

Are you searching for ways to stage and sell your Southern California home even when you have small children? If so, you’ve come to the right place!

Staging and selling a home with small children may seem impossible to some people when in reality the task can be very simple especially if you follow these tips.

Tip #1 – Take One Week or More for Decluttering

Let’s face it, decluttering is an essential step for selling a home because, if a home is a mess the buyer will wonder what else may be wrong with the house.

This is why you should give yourself one week or more to declutter your home because this job can take a while (depending on the house) and you don’t want to stress about getting your home decluttered with the deadline quickly approaching for when your home listing is going live.

While you are decluttering you should create piles for items that you want to keep, donate and throw away, that way you won’t be taking everything to your next house and can make de-cluttering a cleansing, life improving process.

Tip #2 – Rent A Storage Unit for Your Children’s Stuff

If your children are under the age of 10 years old they may have a wide variety of toys and other items that they use regularly, this can be a headache for some parents because there’s always the question of what to do with the kid’s stuff when decluttering the home.

The solution to this problem is to rent a storage unit nearby so you can easily move your children’s toys, play structures, and other items out of the way, just in time for your listing to go live.

Tip #3 – Ask for A Two-Hour Window Before Showings

During the process of selling your house, there will be interest from buyers and many people will want to come by to tour your home so one important thing you should ask of your Realtor® is a two-hour window before showings because this will give you plenty of time to leave the house with your children before buyers arrive.
