4 Ways Realtors Can Help Their Clients Find A Home during the 2013 Real Estate Market header image.

Due to a lack of supply and a high demand for homes in the Orange County Real Estate Market, Realtors here are dealing with the same problem that listing agents across the United States are starting to deal with. It’s much tougher for them to find homes for their clients than it was this same time last year.

In many cases some Realtors have turned to canvasing neighborhoods and knocking on doors to find if some homeowners would be interested in selling their homes while others are using more effective methods of finding homes for their clients including the following:

Reconnecting With Old Listings

Almost every Realtor in Orange County will at one time or another have a listing presentation which they didn’t get. But just because the Realtor didn’t get the listing that doesn’t mean that they should not stay in contact with that lead. Why? Sometimes a home will not sell. Even though the homeowner went with another Realtor and when a Realtor reconnects with their old listing they stand the chance of re-winning their former clients business or getting a referral to someone else who may be considering selling their home.

Go After Withdrawns and Expired

For many listing agents in Orange County, it’s not uncommon for them to have listings that expire during the course of their careers because the client decided to let their home’s listing expire without re-listing it or decided to withdraw it from the market completely. Instead of cutting ties with these former clients, a Realtor may want to reconnect with those expired or withdrawn listing clients because these clients may be considering re-listing their home once again. Since the improvement of the Real Estate market, or they may be able to Refer the Realtor to a friend or family member who is considering buying or selling a home.

Look For FSBO Opportunities

Last of all, but most important, it’s not uncommon to see for sale by owner (FSBO) signs around Orange County because there are some sellers these days who prefer to sell their home without the help of a listing agent.

FSBO homes can also be found listed on www.craigslist.org and they present an excellent opportunity for an Orange County Realtor or top listing agent anywhere in the U.S. to find a perfect home for their client that they might be interested in purchasing. If you have a great agent, they will also have other unconventional tricks up their sleeve to find these FSBO’s because they are often hidden and don’t know how to properly sell their home.
