With Online Tools, Why Not List My Home Myself?

With online market, why not list my home myself?

In 2013 there are more opportunities for the average homeowner to sell their home themselves than ever before, especially online, and many homeowners have been asking “with the variety of tools to sell my home online and offline, why shouldn’t I list my home myself?”

    Real Estate “Leg Work”

One of the things that most homeowners who have sold their own homes in the past won’t tell you is that selling a home takes a lot of work, especially if you’re doing it yourself. A typical home sale will involve taking a lot of calls from prospective buyers, scheduling and keeping appointments, holding open houses and so much more.

The reality that comes from trying to sell a home, in any Real Estate market, is that if you are not able to communicate with prospective buyers and show your home, those buyers will move onto the next home for sale and you could find yourself still trying to sell your home a few months down the road, compared to trying to sell it in a few weeks or less.

    Are You Ready For Negotiation?

In any form of high value sales, negotiation is a key part of closing the deal, especially in the world of Real Estate but this is something that most homeowners don’t think about when they consider trying to sell their homes, and they ultimately will lose tens of thousands of dollars when they disclose the  potential “flaws” that their home has and the buyer’s agent will ask them to reduce the price since their home needs work.

If you’re not willing to come down on your price, or are familiar with the art of negotiation, it makes more sense to hire a Realtor because, they will be able to use their skill to negotiate with potential buyers and get the most money for your home, regardless of its current condition.

    Working with Contracts

Last of all, but most important, selling a home involves contracts and they can sometimes be complicated especially if conditions are not met when selling a home that’s why it’s also best to hire a Realtor so you can spare yourself the hassle of dealing with a Real Estate contract and focus on moving on with your life after your home is sold.
