Thanks to a recent study done by the National Association of Realtors, it’s now clear what homeowners and homebuyers in Orange County, and across the United States, want to have in their homes. They want homes that are: internet ready, have satellite television or are wired for cable and most of all, they want homes that have central heating and air conditioning.
Not Willing To Give Up On The Basics
The National Association of Realtors: “Profile of Buyers Home Feature Preferences” shows Realtors, and top listing agents across the country, that buyers are not willing to give up on the interactive features that they love like: internet or a home that’s already wired for cable. Just as importantly, they recognize the importance of central heating/air, even in areas like Orange County with a temperate climate. While you may not use it most months, in the heat of August & September, and the cold weather months of December-February, they are especially nice to have.
Homebuyer preferences these days stand in stark contract to even just 10 years ago when the average homeowner was willing to settle for the basics like a front yard, back yard and garage. These days home buyers want more and it’s important for every home seller in Orange County to be ready to meet that demand.
Closet Space, Square Footage, Destination And More
Besides finding homes with those features, homebuyers these days also want homes that are close to a lake or body of water, have walk in closets, plenty of square footage and a decent sized dining room.
What’s interesting about the National Association of Realtors study is that of the homebuyers and homeowners who were surveyed, they said that finding homes with sun rooms, exercise rooms or in-law suites were not as important as finding a home with the specific features mentioned above. However, with the changing demographics, those may change in coming years.
