Is Your Realtor Educated In Real Estate? | Fridays with Fred

In 2015 one of the most important things you can do when buying, selling or investing in an Irvine home is choose a Realtor who is educated in Real Estate.

It’s crucial to choose an educated Realtor® who really does know the Real Estate market in Irvine, or the part of the Orange County where you plan on buying, selling or investing because, your agents knowledge level, skills and experience could be the difference between you having a successful Real Estate transaction or not.

    What Should Your Realtor Know?

If your Real Estate agent has been in the business for more than one year they should have a solid knowledge of the following aspects of Real Estate:

    • Local Pricing – Your OC Real Estate agent should have an excellent knowledge of local pricing including the prices for single family homes, condos and townhomes in specific Irvine communities so they can help you price your home correctly (if you’re selling) or avoid overpaying for a new home (if you’re buying).
    • Connections – After working as a Real Estate agent for some time your Realtor will have acquired sufficient local connections who may be able to keep them updated about homes before they come to market (pocket listings), or provide them with information about homes which could make great investments for their clients.
    • Community – As they work in their community your Real Estate Agent will also have developed first-hand knowledge about the community including what stores/shops are nearby, amenities and quality of the local school district.
