December 2018 SoCal Real Estate Market Update
Welcome to the December 2018 SoCal Real Estate market update!
It’s certainly been another fantastic year for Real Estate in Southern California.
As of today, the market is in transition and is slowly becoming a buyers-market, after years of being a sellers market.
November was a quiet month for Real Estate due to the Thanksgiving holiday but, December is starting strong, thanks to more buyers wanting to purchase homes before the end of the year and also lock in low mortgage interest rates.
Will December Be A Busy Month for Real Estate in SoCal?
We expect a strong 3 weeks of activity during December and as usual we’re anticipating a slowdown during the 7 days between Christmas and New Year’s since most people will delay their plans to buy or sell Real Estate until next year so they can enjoy the holiday season.
If you need to buy or sell a home in December because you’re relocating out of state, or are being transferred for your job, don’t hesitate to call us at (800) 921-9231. We can start the process NOW of getting your home sold, or we can also assist in renting it out.
What to Expect in January 2019?
When January 2019 arrives, we expect to see an increase in Real Estate activity during the first week to 14 days since it’s not uncommon for buyers and sellers to resume their Real Estate activities after the holiday season has ended.
It’s also possible that more buyers will be eager to get pre-approved for mortgages at the current low-interest rate just in time before the Fed raises interest rates again.
